Quality Control / Proofreader

We are Good Humans, a media campaign rollout agency with a strong, energetic team who have an ongoing commitment of living up to our name.

We are currently in search of an additional Freelance Proofreader / Quality Controller to join our QC department on a permanent, part-time basis.
Role overview:
You will be needed for approximately 20 hours a week, from 9am-6pm every day. Sometimes there is more work and sometimes there will be less. Scheduling is dependent on workload and is assessed on a monthly basis but we will generally need you in the afternoons between 2-6pm.

Remote weekly team briefings will be attended on Slack, occasional departmental working days and monthly company-wide meetings will be in person, usually at a central London location.

School holidays will be periods that require full-time cover, so if you are able to increase working hours during half-terms, Easter, Summer and Christmas breaks (these are set dates so you will be given plenty of notice) that would be excellent, but not compulsory.

All the work can be done from home, but it is necessary that you have a decent laptop that can open large PDF files, have Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and very fast WiFi connection.

As a Quality Controller, you will be trained by, and report to, the Head of QC. The training is immersive and you will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the role with extended support.

You will need an excellent memory for rules and directives given by our clients. Comprehension of client briefs is key. The role involves checking artworks against a set of masters, keeping one eye on copy and the other on layout, in lots of different languages. You don’t need to speak any additional languages, though if you are able to speak any other languages, that would be a plus.

You must work efficiently and methodically, have a flair for simultaneously spotting small details and seeing the bigger picture, and have an excellent email manner. Often you will be required to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy. Effective communication with the team is expected, we appreciate someone who values team-building and creating lasting working relationships.

Experience of working within Design or Advertising agencies would be an advantage due to the valuable experience and deeper understanding of artworking and delivery processes, though this is not crucial.

The induction and training period will begin at the start of June 2024. We will begin interviewing candidates throughout the job listing period and shortlisted candidates will have potentially three stages of interview with us: an initial video call with a short task to complete, a video chat with feedback, and a final interview in person where possible.

Please apply with your CV and covering letter via grapevinejobs. It is quite important to us that you include a cover letter with your application; we want to get an idea of your communication style. CV-only applications will unfortunately not be considered.

Good Humans are led by our values. We are committed to creating a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants are considered without regard to race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or age.

We are an amazingly, lovely supportive team and there is lots of work. We have recently been voted #8 in the UK’s Best Small Workplaces, something for which we are very proud.
